Marketing and Selling

The popular mistakes of mankind are one of a kind but this one is a repetitive mistake and a misconception on minds of all people. They combine the two ends of the same pole. And call it one. It’s not the fact, it’s the myth. Combining Marketing and Selling is the biggest blunder. Marketing and Selling are two different things of the same stream. One might make a big disgrace of himself by combing the two.

Marketing is in fact the act of “bringing the product to market”. Selling is about “closing a sale and turning a potential buyer into a customer”.

Marketing is a broad area consisting of
· Analyzing customer needs (product, service and idea)
· Producing a product (appropriate features and quality)
· Pricing (affordability)
· Promotion (online and offline advertisements, discounts and loyalty programs)
· Selling (delivery and after sale service)

Where in Selling is just a part of the Marketing process. These are two different things with two different strategies and concepts governing them. Marketing has the Marketing concept and Sales has the Selling concept.

10 things that would differentiate Marketing from Selling –
1. Focus – Marketing focuses on the buyer and designs products and services according to the buyer. Selling focuses on the seller himself and he tries to force the product to the buyer knowingly or unknowingly.
2. Conversion – conversion in Marketing means converting demands or preferences of customers into products and services. It means converting a buyer into a customer in case of Selling.
3. Customer – in Marketing he is the first in the business before the product is designed and the product and service are designed according to the need of the customer. He is the last person in the value chain; the products are sold to the customer in Selling.
4. Satisfaction – customer satisfaction is primary motive in Marketing. Sales enhancement and meeting targets is primary motive in Selling.
5. Strategy – Marketing is a pull strategy. Where in Selling is a push strategy.
6. Awareness – let the seller beware is what a Marketing mind thinks. Let the buyer beware is what the Selling mind thinks.
7. Mindset – do more for the customer and give them the best is what the Marketing person does. Hook the customer by any means is what the Selling person does.
8. Skill sets – Marketing requires conceptualization and analytical skills. Selling requires conversion skills.
9. Concept – Marketing takes the concept outside in. Selling takes the concept inside out.
10. Area coverage – Marketing includes market research, innovation, product development, pricing, promotion, distribution and selling. Selling is just a part of the Marketing process.

Finally to say one thing – To sell something you need a customer first. Selling begins with products and services, whereas Marketing begins with the customer.

Photography

A picture is worth a thousand words, a slideshow is both. Photography is an art of recording still or moving images by an electronic medium to create lasting impression. This industry has seen a vast development. It has had a phenomenal change. Right from the black and white devices to the digital and virtual devices present now. Photography is all about capturing a moment of your life and treasuring it forever. Nowadays photography is given high priority and has become a basic necessity in all works of life. It has made its place in the mobile devices, laptops, spy devices etc. Everywhere photography has become so common.

Photography is an art which needs perfection and eye for detail. An image remains an image if it is taken without any focus and detailing. It becomes a lasting impression and a memory when taken accurately.

There are certain tips and techniques that are to be kept in mind while taking a photograph. There are different details to be focused on while taking photos for different occasions and different formats. But at a larger aspect I would like to put some important detailing a photo should bear.

1. Camera – it matters what to possess. The camera to have and the eye for detail is the two most important aspects in a photo.
2. Be in the same level – while taking a photo, be in the same level as the object. Do not focus it upwards or downwards unless and until it is required. Stay connected at the same level.
3. Background – having a plain background is very essential. This would make the photo look clearer and focus the attention on the object.
4. Flash – usage of flash outdoors enhances the light and gives a better picture. Usage of flash indoor gives an artificial lighting to the surrounding and the originality is gone. Do not use flash unless and until dark.
5. Close connect – maintaining a close connect to the object is a prime thing. It will produce an impactful picture and cut down the attention to the background.
6. Formats – different formats are necessary for different pictures. Horizontal, vertical, panorama etc. This would bring out the best of the object. If the object is longitudinal take vertical photos, and if it is latitudinal take horizontal photos.
7. Focus – it is necessary to keep the object in the center. Re-frame the image and adjust the focus and arrest the moment.
8. Middle – not in all photos the object should be kept in middle. Cover the scenery and the light environment to add beauty to the image. Give it a natural look and capture the moment.
9. Lighting – effects of light effects the photos too. Need to know where the shadow is and avoid it. Soft lighting is recommended.
10. Direct – direct the picture. Do not take photos in an old fashioned way. Take it in different ways. Take it more funky and natural than to stand in a line and pose for it.

Android

It is the word with question marks on everyone’s faces. People are awaiting and confused about the reliability on the software.

Android is an operating system bought by Google. People have a misconception that android os is developed by Google. But the fact remains that it was developed by Android Inc. later purchased by Google. Changes were made on to it by just using the Google developed java software.
Android has about 3% market share in the smartphone segment, expected to grow to 4% by the end of 2010. HTC was the first company to use android platform to its well spread market. Android operating system is lightning fast and accurate.
Here is a clear comparison between the giants. Now the decision is yours. What you use is what you need. So go in for the one which fits you right.

Wheelie

It is fantasy of youngsters to play with bikes. And wheelie is the first thing they try out. 5 easy steps for an effective and safe wheelie.

Prepare, lift off, balance, bring it down and do a stoppie.

Step1: Prepare

Warm your bike along the first gear. Ensure to keep the throttle steady. Slip the clutch slightly with a finger and a strong grip on the handlebar.

Step2: Lift off

As you slip the clutch with it some fuel. Start of gently and do it more and more. The front wheel raises to the relative amount which you pump in the fuel.

Step3: Balance

When the bike is up high, hold the rear break hard so you don’t skid. Keeping your bike in middle is very essential and balance is necessary.

Step4: Bring it down

Gently ease off the fuel and bring down the front wheel down slowly.

Step5:

After the safe landing drive at 80kmph and hit the front brake hard. Put more weight on the front wheel and do a stoppie.

Experience really counts.

Do not try this at home.

Are you confused about how much GB memory card or pen drives or a storage devise to go in for? Its nothing new, it’s the usual problem faced by all people. Expandable memory is become a mandatory option which is provided with the electronic gadgets. It depends on what you want to store and how much you want to store.

This is the amount of data you can store. There might be variations due to change in resolution, compression, bit rate, file content and other factors. Buy the capacity you desire according to the need and use. I would suggest to have an 4BG pen drive that would store 100 songs, 250 photos, 50 docs and 1 movie. At an average people use the pen drive more to transfer movies and songs rather than transferring information or documents. A data storage devise has become so common than everyone have forgotten CD and DVD. Blu ray also has been over shadowed by the more popular, affordable, compact and user friendly data storage devises.
